Hockey The school hockey club meets certain days after school to train depending on the teams the pupils represent and play for. The girls train each week and play a match every Saturday morning with senior teams at home and junior teams away and vice versa. 20-03-09 Mid-Ulster Cup Semi Final RSD vs. Lurgan College. RSD won 2-1. Goal-scorers: Sophie Swaile and Amy McMullan. 21-02-09 Senior School's Shield Semi Final RSD vs. Carrick. RSD lost 0-2. 18-02-09 Senior School's Shield Quarter Final RSD vs. Kilkeel. RSD won 3-0. Goal-scorers: Stacey Lee, Sarah Kennedy and Ruth Hall. On Wednesday the 1st XI played away to Kilkeel in the quarter final of the Shield. Despite a long bus journey, RSD started off well but were evenly contested by a fairly strong Kilkeel side putting RSD's midfield and defence under considerable pressure. However RSD stepped up their game towards the end of the first half and a solid pass into the circle from Robyn Hobson resulted in Stacey Lee putting RSD one goal ahead. RSD dominated in the second half, strongly pressurising Kilkeel's defence with Amy McMullan and Stacey Lee creating numerous opportunities. Sarah Kennedy converted one of these into a goal 15mins into the second half. Shortly followed by a deflection by Ruth Hall into the net, leaving the score 3-0 to RSD by the final whistle. 11-02-09 1st XI lost 0-3 to Royal School Armagh. 31-01-09 RSD 1st XI vs. Wallace High School (H). RSD started off strong, with fluid teamwork which ensured the majority of possession in the first half. Throughout the second half Lurgan dominated the ,match and had several breaks into the RSD circle.
