Public Speaking Following the success of the local heat of the Business and Professional Woman’s Public Speaking competition in Portadown the team began to prepare for the Northern Ireland Final held in Ballymena on Saturday 26th January. Claudia McClung, Diane Erskine and Vikki McClung all represented RSD and in the Northern Ireland final were able to bring home an array of silverware including Best Chairperson, Best Expresser of Thanks and Best Team. Diane spoke on the topic “A new Day is Dawning” while Claudia and Vikki chaired and expressed thanks respectively in a mini-meeting format. The girls were successful in gaining first place through to the All-Ireland final which will be held in Dublin, in March. Meanwhile the team will compete in local festivals and hopefully continue on from their success of last year.
