A-Level English Literature students attended a very witty and superbly acted performance of “The Importance of Being Earnest” in the Bardic Theatre this week. It was a really enjoyable outing, made more special by the performance of current pupil Jake Sinnamon and past pupil Joshua Cuddy.

On Tuesday, RSD hosted Inspire Education who led our Year 8 pupils in their “Ignite” study skills programme. This provided the pupils with lots of helpful and practical tips on how to begin their journey in “big school” when it comes to preparing for examinations. On the same evening, it was great to see so many Year 8 parents come out to hear how they can support their children and to learn how to promote good learning and study habits. A big thank you to Shane from Inspire who led both sessions throughout the day.

Today, Tuesday 21st November 52 Y11 pupils who are studying GSCE Chemistry went to a Chemistry at Work exhibition at QUB. The pupils participated in workshops given by companies who have a strong Chemistry link which included Eakin Medicals, NI Water, Almac, Catagen, Spirit Aero, Norbrook, CAFRE and Dale Farm. The pupils also got to listen to a talk given by the Royal Society of Chemistry in the break which again highlighted jobs and opportunities in the field of Chemistry. Overall it was a very enjoyable morning, where pupils got to see why Chemistry is important and the many varied and interesting career paths which are open to them if they continue to study it further.
