Some of the Year 8 pupils who participated in the Cricket Factory Day with Nigel Jones

On Thursday 28 November Nigel Jones, the Cricket Ireland Development Officer ran coaching sessions for all of Year 8 and all of Year 9 girls during PE and Games periods to give everyone a flavour of the game. He also ran sessions for Year 9 and 10 pupils who have already started playing the game during break and lunchtime. He was ably assisted by Mr McClintock, Miss Colgan and the Kiwi Tutors. Overall 190 pupils in the junior school had an opportunity to get a flavour for the game which remains the school’s major summer sport. This was a valuable introduction for most of the pupils, particularly in Year 8, who have not had any exposure to it until now.
