Dr Burnett, Mrs Hampton and Mr Boyle (of St. Patrick’s Academy) had the pleasure of meeting Prince Edward in October last year, as The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) celebrated its 60th year in existence. As part of the Diamond Anniversary celebrations, The Earl of Wessex travelled around the UK to meet DofE participants and volunteers.
The meeting with The Earl of Wessex was an opportunity to celebrate the joint initiative of both schools sharing the DofE and Gaisce awards.
His Royal Highness had travelled to Colebrooke Park in Enniskillen to celebrate this special occasion and subsequently planted a tree in the grounds of Colebrooke Estate.
