GCSE Examination Results

Results at GCSE for RSD pupils are consistently very strong. Pupils sit their GCSE examinations at the end of the two-year course. There are no modules. Pupil achievements at GCSE are celebrated in Assembly and at Prize Giving each year.

At GCSE, RSD pupils fulfil their academic potential. Performance has been consistently above the average figures for UK and Northern Ireland schools. One way to think about the typical GCSE outcome for RSD pupils is to look at the trends over time. This shows that:

  • 3 out of 4 grades are A*-B from year to year
  • The average GCSE profile for an RSD pupil is around 9.5 B grades or 8.5 A grades
  • Over 90% of RSD pupils return at least 7 A*-C grades
  • Over 95% of RSD pupils return at least 5 A*-C grades
