In Memory of Mrs Jennifer Hobson MBE

It is with sadness that we must announce the death of Mrs Jennifer Hobson MBE who passed away on the morning of Tuesday 6th September.

Jennifer is well known to many of us having had a long association with RSD. Jennifer attended Dungannon High School for Girls continuing her studies at Stranmillis with early teaching experience in the Boys’ Model School, she found her way back to Dungannon teaching for a period in Drumglass High School, known then as the Intermediate. Jennifer taught at RSD from 1980 until her retirement in 2009. Jennifer’s late husband was fellow former pupil Lynn Hobson, also well known to RSD pupils on the rugby field as “the Doc.”
Jennifer will be remembered from her legendary English lessons, school trips, hockey matches and the school plays. She approached everything with good humour and bounds of enthusiasm and her legacy will long remain in the hearts and minds of those who knew her.
We send our deepest sympathy to Jennifer’s family and friends.

As a mark of respect, our 1XI Hockey Team observed a moment of silence in her memory on Wednesday afternoon. Her legend will continue to live on.

Funeral details as follows.
Meeting for Worship on Saturday 10th September at 3.00 p.m. in the Friends Meeting House, Grange, followed by interment in the adjoining graveyard.
