Norman Lau is presented with his award by the Mayor of Craigavon and the chairman and vice-chairman of the Craigavon Sports Advisory Council

Congratulations to RSD badminton star Norman Lau (Year 11), who has been selected as winner in the minor section of the Craigavon Sports Advisory Council’s Junior Sports Personality Awards.

Norman received his award in a ceremony held in Craigavon Civic Centre on 21st September.  There were 51 nominations in 17 categories, including teams, so this really is an outstanding achievement.

In addition to the award, Norman also received a Junior Sports Bursary to assist in the cost of his training, travel and equipment.  The bursary is usually presented to junior sportsmen and women who have succeeded in competitions at provincial level or higher.

A member of the Lisburn Racquets Club, Norman has represented Ulster at under-17 level, and recently represented Northern Ireland in the UK School Games in Sheffield, where he reached the quarter final in his section of the competition.
