We are delighted to announce that our team of seven U13 girls won the All Ireland Table Tennis championship on Thursday. The Year 8 team consisted of Lois Carson, Miriam Carson, Kristen Fenton, Hannah Herron, Erin Matheson, Emily Stinson and Sophia Watt.
The girls qualified to compete in the All Ireland tournament in Dublin after wining the title of U13 Ulster Schools’ Team Champions, at Lisburn Racquets Club in February this year. On the day, they won their semi-final singles 5-1. In the final the girls went two games down, but came back to win 4-2, meaning that they only needed one more win from 3 of their doubles matches. The first team in the doubles consisted of Lois and Miriam Carson who won their game 3-0.
