U14 Rugby Champions

The U14 rugby team were recently crowned champions of the ERGS Shield which is a regional competition throughout the season involving: Royal School Dungannon, Royal School Armagh, Enniskillen Royal Grammar School, Omagh Academy, Killicomaine and Banbridge Academy. The RSD U14 defeated each of these teams throughout the season and are worthy winners of the ERGS Shield.

After this victory, the U14 rugby squad set off on their tour to Cheshire and Pretatyn. The squad took part in two competitions over the Saturday and Sunday playing Litchfield RFC, Ellesmere Port RFC and Capenhurst RFC. The boys were undefeated on both days with all players getting significant game time. The boys were commended for their manners both on and off the field and impressed the local teams with their skills and team tactics. The boys were crowned champions of the Challenge Cup on Saturday and champions of the Revel Cup on Sunday.

On tour the boys stayed on the Presthaven Beach Resort Caravan site and enjoyed activities on the beach, mini golf, ten pin bowling and shopping at Cheshire Oaks Outlet complex.

Well done to all the players and coaches for a very successful tour and a fantastic end to the season.

Joel Clarke and the team received their individual medals, the ERGS Shield, the Challenge Cup and the Revel Cup in a special assembly.
