As the season comes to a close, we reflect on an excellent year for our U14 rugby squad. Despite being a small team in numbers, their performance on the field deserves special praise, winning over two-thirds of their matches. Led by captain Ryan Williamson, whose leadership both on and off the field set a shining example for his teammates, this team consistently displayed determination, skill, and sportsmanship.

One player who stood out among the rest was Ben Comac, our well-deserved Player of the Year. Ben’s attacking prowess and ability to consistently pose a threat to the opposition made him a force to be reckoned with. His contributions were instrumental in many of our victories throughout the season, and his passion for the game was truly inspiring. Another standout player was Angus Lam, who proved to be the most improved player of the year. Angus’s decision to change positions proved to be a game-changer, as he excelled in his new role as a forward. His dedication to honing his skills and his commitment to self-improvement paid off, and his performances on the field were commendable.

The progress made by the entire squad throughout the year cannot be understated. Despite their limited numbers, they trained diligently and consistently, pushing themselves to new heights. This collective effort resulted in several players earning well-deserved recognition. Harry Finlay, Ryan Williamson, Harry Mills, Isaac Busby, and Thomas Jenkins all had the opportunity to showcase their talents in the Medallion squad, a testament to their hard work and growth as rugby players.

Overall, it has been a great season for our U14 rugby squad. Their dedication, teamwork, and unwavering spirit have made us immensely proud. We extend our congratulations to all the players, as well as our gratitude to the coaching staff (Mr Willis, Patrick Greeves and Joshua Clarke) and supporters who have played a vital role in the team’s success. We eagerly anticipate what the future holds for these exceptional young athletes.
