Year 11 GCSE journey workshop

Year 11 enjoyed a great start to their GCSE journey this morning, with an interactive induction day where they explored a variety of revision skills and strategies. The group considered the differences between Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 3 and discussed the positives and the pitfalls, helping to get pupils off to the best start possible as they embark upon this new phase of their education. Pupils reflected on their role as a Key Stage 4 pupil at RSD and discussed ways in which they could contribute positively to the RSD community and were also encouraged to ‘Reconnect’ – our pastoral theme for this year.

We were also delighted to welcome Andrew Jackson from RPS Engineering Consultancy, to speak to our Year 11 pupils and provide advice from an employers perspective; outlining ideal qualities in prospective employees. Pupils enjoyed a mini workshop at this time, aimed to equip them with the knowledge to develop these highly desirable traits in the weeks and months ahead.
