Young Enterprise team win highest sales award

Congratulations to our students who competed in the Company Programme of Young Enterprise NI at Rushmere Shopping Centre on Thursday 6th February. Mia McCammon, Timothy Davidson, Tom Patterson, Adam McNally, Calum Dunne, Emily Adams and Katie Hudson (all Year 13) have been involved in setting up their enterprise ‘Zhu Bamboo’, selling reusable bamboo cups, with the social aim of reducing single-use plastic waste.

‘Zhu Bamboo’ have worked hard in recent months and represented RSD at the Young Enterprise trade fair, displaying enthusiasm and maturity while selling to the general public and speaking to the judges (comprised of representatives from various businesses in NI). The group also gave a presentation to a panel of judges about their enterprise and learning experience to date. Zhu Bamboo were presented with a runner up award for the highest sales.

This is a fantastic learning experience for these students, as they have gained numerous key employability skills including team working, communication and problem solving. Well done!
