Anti-Bullying Week

Zara Farmer and Lucas McMaster delivered an excellent anti-bullying lesson to Mr Hunniford’s Year 8 form class

Anti-Bullying week ran from 1620 November.  The Safer Schools Team worked hard in order to raise awareness of bullying throughout the school. A group of Year 13 pupils planned and led Year 8 form tutor periods prior to Anti-Bullying week. In addition to this, the team planned and led year assemblies for Years 8-10. Constable Sue Wright attended Main Assembly and gave a powerful message about bullying and how the law deals with bullies. In the weeks leading up to anti-bullying week, a poster competition was run and Safer School Team would like to thank all of those who entered. There was great deliberation over the winners as the standard of the entries was excellent. The first prize was awarded to Zara Chambers (Year 9), second prize to Grace Ferguson (Year 9) and third prize to Emma Jane Orr (Year 8). The runner up was Sarah Thompson (Year 8). On Friday 20 November, to bring Anti-Bullying week to a close, the Safer Schools Team and the Debating Society worked together to organise a debate which was well attended by pupils from all year groups. This reinforced the dangers of bullying.
