Antibullying week 17-21 November

As part of anti-bullying week a group of Year 13 pupils organised a number of events. On Monday 17 they took Year 8 Assembly, which included a video highlighting the effects that bullying can have on an individual’s life. They also did a drama showing how celebrities had been affected by bullying.

Throughout the week, Year 13 pupils led Year 8 form periods, showing a video entitled ‘To This Day’ and organising activities which helped to promote the message that bullying should not be tolerated.  The Year 8s wrote a positive comment about everyone in their form class, an activity aimed at building friendship and promoting the idea that everyone is valuable and deserves to be treated with respect.

Also, on the Tuesday morning the PSNI and Women’s Aid presented a drama on “Unhealthy Relationships” to the year 13 pupils. The drama highlighted the antibullying message in a different context by raising awareness about domestic abuse and bullying within relationships.
