Many of us were saddened to hear that a few weeks ago Maud Kells, a missionary from the Kongo, had her home in Cookstown ransacked, during which she lost money and supplies that she was hoping to take with her to the Kongo to help this very deprived area.
When the Charities Committe and Scripture Union heard about this dreadful news they decided to hold a bun sale to raise something to go towards replacing what was stolen. The bun sale took place at breaktime on Thursday 11 and Friday 12 October, and was a huge success. Due to the massive support from all those who brought in buns and those who came along to buy them, a total of £454.34 was presented to a delighted Ms Kells.
