National Award winners for Wrigley’s ‘Litter Less’ photography competition

Emily Carson, Dion Di Maio, Rebecca Davis and Rebecca Rocha-Elliott (all Year 13) participated in a ‘Young Reporters for the Environment’ workshop in January this year. At this time, the girls entered a photograph into the international Wrigley’s ‘Litter Less‘ competition. They were recently awarded first place in Northern Ireland for this winning entry, in the 15-18 year old photography category. The team were presented with a certificate (pictured above) and cheque for £250. Their winning photo entry has been posted online, on the international YRE ‘Exposure Page’ and can be found here.

The team were also previously successful in winning first prize and a cheque for £200, for their separate entry this year in the Eco Schools NI social media photography ‘Waste Heroes’ competition. Information on this can be found here.

This exciting total sum of £450 will be a very welcome boost to our school Eco-committee, which will reconvene in the new term. Well done to the team for their success! We look forward to seeing what the new term brings for the Eco-Committee.
