RSD pupils shine at the Dungannon Music and Drama Festival

Emma McCammon, Hannah Weir and Robyn Elliott-Murphy show off their Dungannon Festival trophies

The Dungannon Music and Drama Festival, which ran from 28th February to 11th March, is always eagerly anticipated.  And again, the success attained by so many of RSD’s pupils has been remarkable.

Across the individual music, speech, and drama competitions there was an impressive number of pupils from RSD who emerged as class winners.  In addition to these superb individual performances, RSD’s Band, Chamber Choir and Junior Choir also took part and put in some fantastic performances. The band received 87 marks out of 100 for their performance of ‘Hootenany’ and ’Jesu Joy of Man’s Desiring’. The Chamber choir received similar marks for their performance of ‘Think on Me’ followed by an arrangement of ‘Bo-Peep’. The Junior Choir received 85 marks for their performance of a medley of songs from Les Miserables.  All in all the Festival was a credit to the efforts of RSD’s Music Department and the individual pupils involved
