RSD pupils shine in GCSE and A Level examinations

Our Year 14s enjoyed excellent A Level results in this summer’s examinations. 19 pupils out of a cohort of 82 secured a clean sweep of A* and A grades with Philip Parr and Gary Wong each scoring A* grades in all three of their subjects. More than 7 out of every 10 grades awarded were at the top grades of A*, A or B and almost 9 out of 10 grades were at A* to C.

At AS Level 15 pupils returned straight A grades in all of their chosen subjects, including Annie Kret and Martin Cheng who each achieved 5 A grades; and a further 11 pupils secured at least 3 A grades amongst their four subjects. In total, 39% of all grades were at A grade and 63% of all grades were at A or B grade.

Likewise, GCSE results in this summer’s examinations were very strong. An incredible 23/95 pupils who sat GCSE examinations returned at least 8 A*/A grades. Jason Pang secured 10 A* grades and 1 grade A, while Alison Thompson and Adele Patterson each returned 10 A* grades. The overall results showed that 41% of all grades were at A* or A grades and 74% of all grades were at A*-B. Around 9 out of 10 pupils met government benchmarks of returning at least seven A*-C grades, including English and Mathematics.

Congratulations to all of the pupils for achieving such excellent results.
