Year 9 pupil Amy Burnett has recently had the exciting experience of participating in a painting workshop run by renowned local artist, Dermot Cavanagh.
The workshop was part of her prize for winning first place in an Art & Design Competition organised by the Tyrone Courier.
Pupils were challenged to design a front cover for the Winter Programme at the Burnavon Theatre in Cookstown.
Amy won 1st place – a particularly impressive achievement, given that she was competing against GCSE and A Level pupils from other schools in the area. As well as meeting Dermot Cavanagh, Amy also won an art kit, tickets for a show at the theatre and had her winning entry framed.
