On Tuesday 15th March, pupils in Year 8 had the pleasure of attending a talk by Marilyn Taylor to promote her new title 17 Martin Street and to discuss her previous bestseller Faraway Home.

The Dublin-based writer gave Year 8 pupils a fascinating account of her research into the historical context for her novels, both of which are set during World War II. There was time for questions at the end of the talk as well as a book signing for many of the Year 8 pupils who have already bought 17 Martin Street or Faraway Home.

The Book Club would like to extend a big thank you to Marilyn Taylor, and we are pleased to report that in the short time since her visit, many requests for both of her novels have been submitted by eager pupils to the library.
