Crime Scene Investigation

The CSI day was held on Thursday 4 October and was attended by all pupils in Years 11 and 12.  Alison from the “Educate me” company had turned the lower gym into a crime scene where a drug dealer had been murdered.  By examining the evidence from the scene of the crime and using analytical instruments that included a mass spectrometry the students had to piece the information together to decide which of the four suspects was the killer and what was their motive for the crime.  The students used their skill and powers of deduction to decide on a killer and Alison was very impressed by the number of students who were able to correctly identify the murderer.  Overall it was a very enjoyable day that showed how Science taught in school can be used in real situations outside the classroom.
