Sentinus Robotics Workshop

On Thursday 27 September all Year 8 pupils supported by Year 11 mentors took part in the Robotics Workshop run by Sentinus.

Sentinus developed a full day robotics programme giving pupils the opportunity to control robotic cars.  The students were required to write their own programmes which are then downloaded to their robot to enable it to carry out its tasks.  The activities are within the context of lunar exploration using autonomous vehicles to carry out a range of tasks.  Throughout the activity the pupils worked in teams of two to try and get their robot to the end of the track.  They were marked on both accuracy and distance travelled. All year 8 pupils thoroughly enjoyed the day.
