Geography field trip

On Friday 6 October the UVI Geography class travelled to the Giant’s Causeway to undertake a fieldwork study concerning the nature of tourism at the Causeway. We had the chance to visit the new state-of-the-art, multimillion pound visitor’s centre. The data collection involved measuring the width of upland paths and the erosion caused by the 600,000 tourists who visit each year. We also asked some questionnaires to the tourists to find out how they would rate facilities at the centre and  to work out the sphere of influence for the area.
