Spring Concert

On Wednesday 13th April the musicians of the Royal School Dungannon produced yet another unforgettable Spring Concert for a large audience.

The concert began with an outstanding rendition of John Williams’ ‘Star Wars: The Phantom Menace’ by the school band. Other superb performances followed including a vocal duet by Alison and Jenny Thompson of Purcell’s ‘Sound the Trumpet’, a harp solo by Katrina Hunter and choral pieces by the Junior, Senior and Chamber Choirs. The Royal Strings, excelled under the direction of Mrs M. Napier, and enchanted the audience with their performance which was followed by an interval, during which refreshments were sold in aid of Christchurch Earthquake Appeal by the charities committee. The night was concluded with a memorable performance of Walters’ ‘Hootenanny’ by the School Band.

Thanks must be given to Mr and Mrs Batchelor and to Mrs Napier for their hard work and dedication to the school’s music department over the past year.
