We recently had the pleasure to welcome Danny McCann-Williams, from the Ulster Orchestra, to RSD to give a violin masterclass to one of our Year 13 pupils, Emily Hayes.

Emily recited a piece on her violin called ‘Intermezzo’, Danny helped to bring in more tips for Emily to further improve her skill and this particular piece of music. Many other Royal Strings members, along with Mr Boyd, thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to listen to the masterclass. At the end, Danny also played one of his favourite violin pieces which was breath-taking. We would like to thank Danny for coming into our school and bringing new inspiration, not only to Emily’s playing but to everyone else who benefited from attending the workshop.
