On Thursday 1st December, two table tennis teams from RSD travelled to the Valley Leisure Centre, Newtownards to compete in the Ulster Schools Championships. The U19 team consisting of Kerry Jones (captain), Karen Elliott, Heather Hall, Jane McClements, Ashley Givan and Ruth Montgomery,  were unfortunately only able to reach the quarter-finals, where they were put out by Ballymena Academy in a tightly contested match, which ended 5-4.

The U15 team consisting of Joe McKeown, Samatha Kelly, Lucy Talbot, Jemma Hall, Emma Thompson and Louise Maguire, gave an excellent performance, winning their semi-final comfortably 6-3. Unfortunately, however, the girls went on to lose a nail-biting final 6-3, and had to settle for the silver medals. 

All the girls would like to thank Mrs Robb for taking us and encouraging us throughout the day.
