On Wednesday 23rd February, a number of girls who had qualified from the District Championships which were held in Dungannon Park, proceeded to compete in the Ulster Cross Country Championships in Mallusk.

In the minor age group Hannah Smyth finished in a creditable 76th position in a very strong field of 133 girls.

In the Junior team Alex McDonald finished in 22nd place and Erin Bain finished in 23rd out of 118 runners – a superb achievement for both girls.   Ellen Louise Irwin, Rebecca Donaldson, Rebecca Emerson and Victoria Wilson all finished in the top 100 finishers.

In the Intermediate age group Jayne McClements finished in 34th place and in the Senior age group Kerry Jones finished in 60th position, whilst Amy McMullan finished in 33rd.

The effort shown by all girls was fantastic, especially considering the tough conditions of the course at Mallusk. Well done!
