RSD shooters have enjoyed considerable success in competitive meetings over the past few months.
On Saturday 13th December, the RSD Shooting team competed in the Northern Ireland Schools Meeting. The team of eight lifted the Inter-Schools Shield after finishing top of the table, whilst two RSD teams of four came first and second, thus providing the club with another trophy for its cabinet – the Inter-Schools Perpetual Challenge Shield.
In addition to these team successes, Simon Ferguson (Year 13) won the Under 16 Individual event, narrowly beating Reuben Young (Year 12) into second place. Caleb Dilworth (Year 11) also recorded a second place finish in the Under 14 Individual competition.
More success followed in January at the Downshire Open, in which 11 of RSD’s shooters competed. Aisling Napier (Year 14) was winner of both Class ‘C’ and the Junior event, whilst Simon Ferguson (Year 13) finished second in Class ‘C’ and third in the Junior event. In Class ‘D’ Patrick Swaile (Year11) was second and Agnes Chan (Year 13) finished third.
Congratulations to all RSD shooters on this fine set of results.
