The team started their campaign well with a convincing 36-10 win over Friends school Lisburn, followed by another impressive win against Sullivan upper 22-17. However, luck ran out with a narrow loss to Royal school Armagh losing 19-12. RSD seconds struggled for a few games loosing narrowly to Omagh and BRA, Match report: BRA 24 – 22 RSD First score for RSD came from Good work by forwards then a ruck close to the line, Ben Doyle passed to Adam Bradley who scored in the corner. Next score came from Matthew Hall who gathered the cross field kick. BRA answered with a soft score when we let their 9 tap quickly from penalty. Dylan Mooney scored next running a hard line from scrum to run in from 22m line. BRA scored next before a Matthew Hall charged down a BRA kick before passing to Dylan Mooney who scored. BRA managed to score below the posts to win the game by 2 points.
The next 2nd XV game was against ERGS were the team struggled to gain any momentum resulting in a 22-0 defeat. The team then entered the 2nd XV Cup were the played Omagh academy again in an exhilarating game were the RSD team put up much more of a challenge against the side they lost to previously in the year put it wasn’t to be with final score ending 22-21 in favour of Omagh. The 2nd XV then went on to pay Sullivan in an away game were again with a strong Sullivan team the RSD squad were unable to win against the SUS side for the second time that Season losing 33-24. The 2nd XV were then back on track with a comfortable 24-0 win against Lurgan College. This followed with another good win the team against Bainbridge academy 33-12. The season concluded with an unfortunate loss to Limavady in tough conditions in the 2nd XV school’s trophy which resulted in the team being knocked out of all competitions.
