On Thursday 26th January, 16 pupils from RSD travelled to the Valley Leisure Centre, Newtownards, to compete in the Ulster School’s Individual Table Tennis Championships. RSD secured two gold medals, from Neil Irwin who won the U16 Boys’ and Ashley Given who won the U19 Girls competition.

There was also one silver medal from Caron Jones in the U12 Girls section and one bronze medal from Kerry Jones in the U19 Girls.  Jane McClements, Lucy Talbot, Jemma Hall, Samantha Kelly, Matthew Maguire, Michael Jones, Megan Haden, Jo McKeown and Emma Thompson all made it through the group stages into the 2nd round, but unfortunately faced tough competition.  

Well done to all who particpated, and congratulations to the medal winners.  The pupils would like to thank Miss Colgan for driving them to the event.
