Young Enterprise – Year 10 Study Skills

On 26 September, Year 10 attended a talk on ‘Study Skills: Gaining the skills to study’, organised by the school and Young Enterprise.  In previous years at school, Young Enterprise have held various workshops for us, all being very beneficial and relevant to our school lives.  This workshop was of a high standard as usual, and I think all pupils came away feeling confident in the new methods of revision we had discussed.

The Study Skills workshop was organised by two representatives from Young Enterprise, Vivienne Walsh and past pupil Hannah Cashel. During the hour and a half, we participated in quizzes, listening exercises and self-assessments. All the activities were centred on the idea of being able to study in a more useful and worthwhile way. We were given booklets to work through individually and in groups, with tasks and key information focused on relevant topics such as ‘What’s your revision method?’, and how to ‘Create a mind map!’.

I think that all Year 10 pupils would agree that we have each taken something away from the Study Skills Programme. It was an enjoyable day, and so we would like to thank the school and Young Enterprise for this valuable and worthwhile experience.
